Research Outputs

While our core work relates mainly to environmental impact assessments and impact/rehabilitation monitoring, we are also involved in scientific research and taxonomic development.  Most of this work is self-funded, but we have received funding from external sources for some projects. Below are some examples of species we have described, with links to the publications.

Boloponera ikemkha, the second species to be described in one of the most rarely encountered ant genera known. Each of the two species has been collected only once, B. vicans in the Central African Republic, and B. ikemkha in Sekhukhuneland, South Africa. Nothing is known about the biology of these subterranean ants.
